Pinot Noir Pinot Gris Chardonnay Pinot Blanc Arneis Rosato Dolcetto Dessert Wine

For nearly four decades Ponzi Pinot Noir has been critically acclaimed for its sensual aromas, elegant intensity and depth, layered black fruit flavors, hints of spice and a long finish.

Behind every bottle of Ponzi Pinot Noir is nearly four decades of winemaking discovery and innovation in the Willamette Valley. The trademark Ponzi style is based on our intimate vineyard knowledge; our gentle, attentive processes; and the artistry of barrel selection as we create the most stunning blends.

Ponzi's four bottlings – Tavola, Willamette Valley, Reserve and Abetina – are neither fined nor filtered. They are crafted to be delicious upon release. We are confident they will mature and bring pleasure for years to come.

Since 1978, our goal has remained the same: to vinify Pinot Gris with creamy texture, vibrant pear and apple flavors, and a fresh finish. Ponzi Vineyards' pioneering plantings of Pinot Gris began in 1978, when this varietal was virtually unknown in the United States. Based on our commitment to finding the perfect match between varietal and climate, Pinot Gris is an obvious choice. A relative of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris is perfectly suited to the climate and soils of the Willamette Valley. Ponzi Pinot Gris is fermented entirely in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to create this crisp, lively wine that meets our highest standards of perfection and consistency.

Exemplifying the best in new world Chardonnay, the Ponzi style showcases aromas of pineapple, apple, and roasted nuts, with mineral characteristics and a bright finish. To accomplish our ideal Chardonnay style, we gently press whole clusters, ferment the wine in French oak barrels with our proprietary yeast, frequently stir the lees and allow the wine to mature for 18 months in barrel. In some blends, our winemaker may use stainless steel fermentation to ensure freshness and vibrant fruit flavors. In our continuing commitment to the perfect match of varietal and climate, Ponzi Chardonnay is made with Dijon clones, which are ideally suited to the long, cool growing season in the Willamette Valley. The barrel select Chardonnay blends – Willamette Valley and Reserve – are unfiltered, unfined, and aged in bottle eight months before release.

Floral notes, tropical fruit and a hint of spice cascade off the nose of the extremely aromatic Ponzi Pinot Blanc, created to be luscious and full with a crisp finish. In 1990, upon her return from studies in Burgundy, Winemaker Luisa Ponzi was determined to take advantage of the Willamette Valley's ideal climate for Pinot Blanc. The largest Ponzi vineyard site – Aurora – was the perfect match of soil and elevation for this special varietal, which is made in the Ponzi tradition of low yields and gentle handcrafting. Ponzi Pinot Blanc is whole cluster pressed, fermented in stainless steel and French oak barrels – depending on the vintage – and bottled early to retain the beautiful, fresh fruit. Similar to its Pinot relatives, it is a vibrant and versatile wine, ideal with most dishes or for any occasion.

Aromas of peach and toasted nuts persist through the palate of Ponzi Arneis, Oregon's first and only commercial production of this ancient northern Italian varietal. Arneis is a unique dry white wine that perfectly represents the Ponzi Family's commitment to innovation and discovery. Upon being introduced to Arneis during one of their many trips to visit the Currado Family of Italy's "Vietti Winery":http://www.vietti.com/welcome_eng.lasso, Dick and Nancy were delighted by the wine's lovely flavors and balance. They quickly returned to Oregon's Willamette Valley to plant their first Arneis in 1991 – and became one of just three Arneis producers in the United States. The grapes are whole cluster pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel and French oak barrels, depending on the vintage.

This popular wine is vinified using both the classic saige technique (bleeding of juice), as well as pressing the Pinot Noir fruit. Grapes for the blend were hand selected from some of the Willamette Valley’s finest and oldest certified sustainable vineyards. The fruit was destemmed and allowed a 24-hour cold soak to pick up a little color before pressing and put into stainless steel.

The fermentation was cool and long and malolactic fermentation was inhibited to retain the bright, fresh fruit character. Ponzi Rosato is crisp and light with lovely, delicate Pinot Noir flavors; a perfect accompaniment to al fresco dining.

A rare Italian varietal, the black fruit and peppery flavors of Ponzi Dolcetto make this special wine an exciting alternative to Merlot or Syrah.

Full of black fruit and spice, Ponzi Dolcetto demonstrates our commitment to discovery and innovation in finding yet another varietal match for the long, cool growing season of the Willamette Valley. Ponzi Dolcetto has roots in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy, where the Ponzis discovered it during one of many visits to the Currado Family’s Vietti Winery.

They planted some of Oregon’s first Dolcetto in 1992. This varietal ripens along with the Pinot Noir, showing intense color and flavor.

Presenting "Vino Gelato" - a delightful ice wine with flavors of ripe peach and a bright, honeyed finish. Vino Gelato begins with carefully selected clusters from the old White Riesling vines in our Estate Vineyard and Muscat grown in the Willamette Valley, which are frozen until mid-winter. Luisa then carefully presses these clusters to capture the sugar and intense flavors inside. Vino Gelato is fermented to retain a fine balance of acidity and sweetness, and bottled in a whimsical 375 ml bottle, just right for serving alongside a favorite dessert ... we recommend ricotta cheesecake.
